WHO WE ARE
"Payee" (the "App") is an iOS app developed and published by Furkan Kaynar, an independent developer ("we", "us", "our").

THE SHORT VERSION
Payee is built to be private by design.
- Your salary and earnings information stays on your device. We never receive it, we never send it to any server, and we have no account system.
- We do not run any analytics, advertising, or tracking. We do not sell or share your data. We do not use cookies or advertising identifiers.
- The only personal data that ever leaves your device is the limited purchase information Apple and our purchase processor (RevenueCat) need to sell you the app and process an optional tip. We explain exactly what that is below.
The sections below give the full detail.
1. DATA THAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE (WE NEVER RECEIVE IT)
Everything you enter into Payee is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData). It is not transmitted to us or to any server, and it is not stored in iCloud. This includes:
- Your income figure (the amount and whether it is hourly, monthly, or yearly) and your chosen currency.
- Your optional take-home percentage.
- Your work schedule (work days and start/end times).
- Your tracked sessions (a session name, start and end times, and the earning rate snapshot at the time you started it).
- Your preferences (for example, privacy mode and whether the optional end-of-day summary is enabled).
To make the home-screen and Lock Screen widgets, the Live Activity, and the Apple Watch app show the same numbers, the App stores a small local snapshot of this data in a shared "App Group" container on your device. This sharing happens entirely on your device. None of it is sent to us.
Because this data lives only on your device, you are in direct control of it: you can change or delete it in the App at any time, and deleting the App removes it.
2. PURCHASES AND PAYMENTS (HANDLED BY APPLE)
Payee is a paid app, and it also offers an optional "tip jar" of voluntary in-app purchases. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store and your Apple Account.
We never see or receive your full payment details (such as your card number). Apple processes the transaction and, in line with Apple's own terms, may make available to us limited sales and tax information, which is generally aggregated or anonymized. How Apple handles your information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).
3. THE TIP JAR AND OUR PURCHASE PROCESSOR (REVENUECAT)
The optional tips are in-app purchases. We use RevenueCat, Inc. ("RevenueCat") to manage and validate these purchases. RevenueCat acts as our processor for this single purpose.
When you open the tip jar or make a tip, the RevenueCat software in the App may collect and process:
- A randomly generated, anonymous app user identifier (created by RevenueCat; we do not assign you a personal ID and we do not link it to your name).
- Purchase and transaction data, including the App Store receipt, product identifier, purchase status, price, and currency.
- Limited technical and device information, such as device model, operating system version, country/region, the RevenueCat software version, and the IP address used to make the request.
This information is used only to process purchases, validate receipts, restore purchases, and prevent fraud. RevenueCat does NOT receive any of your salary, earnings, schedule, or session data.
We do not use this for advertising, and we do not collect your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). RevenueCat's handling of data is governed by its privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/.
4. NOTIFICATIONS (OPTIONAL, LOCAL ONLY)
Payee offers an optional end-of-day summary notification. It is turned off by default. If you enable it, the notification is scheduled locally on your device by iOS. There is no push server, and no notification content is sent to us. You can turn notifications off at any time in the App or in the iOS Settings app.
5. FACE ID / TOUCH ID (OPTIONAL "PRIVACY MODE")
You can turn on "privacy mode" to hide your earnings behind Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. This uses Apple's built-in authentication system. Your biometric data is handled entirely by iOS on your device and is never made available to us.
6. NO ANALYTICS, NO TRACKING, NO ADS
We do not use any analytics or advertising tools. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not access your advertising identifier. The App shows no ads. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not use it for any form of profiling or behavioral advertising.
7. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
- On-device data: kept on your device until you change or delete it in the App, or until you delete the App. Deleting the App removes its local database and the shared App Group snapshot from that device.
- Purchase records: Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase and transaction records under their own policies and to meet legal, accounting, and tax obligations. We do not control those retention periods.
8. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING (EU/UK GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases for the limited processing connected to purchases:
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): selling you the App and processing your purchases and optional tips.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): validating receipts and preventing fraud. Our interest is keeping purchases secure and legitimate.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): for the optional notifications, which you switch on yourself. You can withdraw this at any time by turning them off.
We do not carry out any processing of your salary or earnings data, because it never leaves your device.
9. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Because we hold almost no personal data about you on any server, most of your information is under your direct control on your device.
For data held by our processors (Apple and RevenueCat) in connection with a purchase, and depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data held about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Data portability.
- Withdraw consent at any time (for example, for notifications).
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Germany, you can contact your competent state supervisory authority.
If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not process it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

10. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Apple and RevenueCat may process the limited purchase data described above in countries outside your own, including the United States. These providers offer appropriate safeguards for such transfers (for example, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses). See their privacy policies for details.
11. CHILDREN
Payee is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 16 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will address it.
12. SECURITY
Your on-device data is protected by the security of your device, including iOS app sandboxing and device encryption, and optionally by the Face ID / passcode lock you can enable in the App. Your salary and earnings figures are never transmitted off your device. No method of storage or transmission is ever completely secure, but we keep the amount of data involved to a minimum by design.
13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at the same address. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
