Günün Hadisi ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is developed and published by Appgea ("the Developer"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes, how it is processed, and the rights you have in relation to that information.
It applies to both editions of Günün Hadisi:
- Günün Hadisi for iOS (com.appgea.gununhadisi), including its home-screen and Lock Screen widgets.
- Günün Hadisi for Android (com.appgea.gununhadisi), including its home-screen widget.
The two editions are separate applications built for their own platform. They share the same product, the same on-device-only design, and this policy. Where a section applies to only one platform, it says so.
By downloading, installing, or using Günün Hadisi, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
1. The Short Version
- We do not operate any servers.
- We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, or behavioral data.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not ask you to create an account, and we never ask for your name, email address, or phone number.
- Your reading, saved hadiths and memorization progress are stored on your device only.
- The App is free to download. One optional purchase, "Rehber", unlocks extra features for life. There are no adverts and no subscriptions.
- Purchases are processed by Apple or Google and verified through RevenueCat, as described in §5A.
2. Who We Are (Data Controller)
Furkan Kaynar, operating as Appgea in Bulgaria, is the data controller for information processed in connection with the App. Contact: devappgea@gmail.com
3. Information Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following on your device and nowhere else. It is identical on iOS and Android:
- Your chosen reading language.
- Your widget appearance and reading-set progress.
- The identifiers of the hadiths you have saved, and the date you saved each one.
- The date you first opened the App. This is what decides which hadith you see on which day, and which days your archive holds.
- Whether the daily reminder is on, and the time of day you set it to.
- A count of how many times you have opened the App, and the version you were last asked to rate. This is used only to decide when to show the rating prompt, and never to profile you.
- Your memorization progress: which of the forty hadith you have learned and when each is next due for review, and whether you practise in Arabic or in translation.
- Your narration speed, and whether you have already made your free status video.
On iOS this is held in the App Group container shared by the App and its widgets. On Android it is held in the App's private preferences. System backups may retain these preferences according to your backup settings.
The App also stores whether a first reading occurred, whether Rehber is active, any verified prior-purchase access, and a fixed expiry for hardship access. On iOS, hardship access uses Keychain and may survive uninstalling the app on the same device. On Android, the signed access record and its Keystore key are not included in app backup and cannot restore ownership after reinstall.
None of this local reading data is transmitted to us.
4. What the App Does Not Collect
The App does not collect, request, or process:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address.
- Your location, at any level of precision.
- Your contacts, photos, calendar, microphone, or camera.
- Advertising identifiers, device identifiers, or cookies.
- Usage analytics, crash telemetry of our own, or behavioural profiles.
- Payment card information. Apple or Google processes every purchase. We never see card details.
5. Network Activity
The App carries the first thirty days of narration inside the download itself. Nothing needs to be fetched for it to work.
Narration beyond day thirty is delivered as on-demand asset packs:
- iOS: Apple-hosted Background Assets packs, requested through Apple.
- Android: Play Asset Delivery packs, requested through Google.
A pack may be requested when you press play or prefetched for upcoming readings. In serving that request, Apple or Google may process your IP address and device information under their own privacy policies. We receive no report of it and cannot connect it to you.
5A. Purchases and RevenueCat
The optional Rehber purchase is a one-time, lifetime purchase made through the App Store or Google Play. To confirm it, restore it on another device, and notice a refund, the App uses RevenueCat, Inc., a purchase-verification service, as our processor.
When the App starts, and when you buy or restore, RevenueCat receives:
- A random identifier created by the App. It is not linked to your name, email, or Apple or Google account by us. The App shows it to you as your "Support code".
- Store transaction data: product, price, currency, store country, purchase and refund dates, and the store's receipt or purchase token.
- Basic technical data: app version, operating system version, device model, language, and IP address, which RevenueCat processes to serve the request.
This is used only to decide whether Rehber is active. It is not used for advertising, analytics, or profiling. RevenueCat keeps it under its own privacy policy (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy). We can see these purchase records in RevenueCat's dashboard. We use them to answer support requests, for example when someone who bought the earlier paid edition asks us to restore access, and we may grant access to a support code at your request.
6. Information Processed by Apple (iOS Edition)
Apple processes the following in connection with the iOS App; we do not see it:
- App Store downloads and updates, governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.
- Background Assets pack delivery, as described in §5.
- The App Store rating prompt, presented by the system. Any rating or review you leave is handled by Apple.
- Crash reports and diagnostics, only if you opted into "Share with App Developers" in iOS Settings. These are aggregated by Apple and contain no identifying user data.
If you have iCloud Backup enabled, Apple may include the App's on-device data in your own encrypted iCloud backup. That backup belongs to you, not to us.
7. Information Processed by Google (Android Edition)
Google processes the following in connection with the Android App; we do not see it:
- Google Play downloads and updates, governed by Google's terms and privacy policy.
- Play Asset Delivery pack delivery, as described in §5.
- The in-app review prompt, presented by Google Play. Any rating or review you leave is handled by Google.
If Android's system Auto Backup is on, Android may copy the App's data to your own Google account. That backup belongs to you, not to us.
8. Notifications
The App sends no push notifications and creates no push token. It has no server that could send you one.
The daily reminder is a local notification. It is off until you turn it on in Settings, and the App asks for the notification permission at that moment and at no other. Your device schedules it and your device delivers it, at the hour you chose, carrying that day's hadith. Nothing about it leaves the device, and we are not told whether it was delivered or opened. Turning the switch off in Settings stops it.
While narration is playing, the App also shows a playback notification so you can pause without reopening it. On Android it exists only while audio is loaded and is removed when playback stops; on iOS the same controls appear on the Lock Screen. If you decline the notification permission, audio still plays; you simply lose that control.
9. Sharing a Hadith
When you share a hadith, the App draws a card or a short video on your device and hands it to your system share sheet. You choose where it goes. We are not involved in that step and keep no record of it.
10. Children
The App is suitable for all ages and is not directed at children in a way that collects data from them, because it collects no data from anyone. We do not knowingly process personal information from children.
11. Your Rights
The App holds no reading data on any server. The only record about you outside your device is the purchase record described in §5A. To ask for a copy of it or for its deletion, send us your support code through the support form. Deleting it removes the record of your purchase, and you would then restore it from the store. For everything else you are in full control:
- Remove a saved hadith at any time from within the App.
- Uninstall the App to erase everything it has stored on your device.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with comparable law, the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection apply to any personal data a controller holds about you. For this App that is only the purchase record in §5A. The legal basis for processing it is performance of the purchase contract.
12. Data Retention
On-device data stays until you delete it or uninstall the App. Purchase records in RevenueCat are kept while the purchase can be restored or refunded, or until you ask us to delete them.
13. Security
Local access records use the platform Keychain or Keystore. The App has no user account. On-device data is protected by your device's own operating system and by whatever screen lock and disk encryption you have enabled.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and the current version will always be reachable from the App's Settings screen and from the store listing. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
